Mahatma Gandhi have importance and he is famous for truth, simplicity and non-violence, that is not hurting others. Then he became the topic of discussion in so many international media. Mahatma Gandhi's dress was a dress which was in a very simple form, just a dhoti and loincloth worn above the knees and sometimes a shawl. Could he not afford fashionable, fancy ect clothes? In the Odisha, womens will not seen at these lectures and public metting. By doing many inquires, Gandhi ji found that the people in the country were too poor that their womenfolk had not a decent thing for wearing. Therefore, they kept away from the all public functions.
Gandhi ji was deeply pained by hearing this. From that day, we selected for wearing the bare minimum of the clothes. Be it cold and hot, he would not changed their simple dress.

Onc day, he went to England for a very important conference. England's George King gave a reception to the participants of the conference at their palace. The King have to dress up in a very certain way received people. At that time England ruled over the India. England people want to know that, Mahatma Gandhi would change the lifestyle of his dress for seeing the king. Mahatma Gandhi create it in a very good and clear manner that he world be dressed in his usual way.
Reason for Becoming A Great Leader
Even though when visible the King of England. He wear the dress of the people who he represented. Gandhi ji was not bothered as the poor people in his country did not have enough or so many clothes for wearing. The King had to welcome at his reception and this great man dressed in a very simple shawl and the loincloth. The King himself was dressed quite and extravagantly. Gandhi ji asked him, whether he had enough clothes for meeting with the king.
He replied that, the king have enough or many extra cloths for both of them. Million of the poor people in India felt very happy that Mahatma Gandhi ji dressed like them to all Indian people. Even though Mahatma Gandhi ji did not use any destructive weapons such as gun, bombs etc. He had many millions of staunch followers. Gandhi ji showed that, all the suppressed people in the all over the world the new path of Satyagraha.
